Your Child’s Health & Wellness Record

About:
Karen Melnick is an RN, BSN, and a photographer. Her nursing experience includes mental ealth, community healthcare, school-based healthcare, and healthcare management. Karen’s varied nursing background means that she is well-versed in what information is critical for parents to record and how to communicate with health and wellness professionals. As the mother of three children, Karen knows first hand how difficult it can be to remember important health-related details. Her children have experienced a variety of illnesses, both big and small. She has made many visits to medical specialists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and education professionals. She realized that there was nothing available to help parents manage the often complex health and wellness issues of their children – so she created her own!

Oakville Moms review:
As soon as I opened the package I was greatly impressed with the record book and document organizer. Well organized, easy to follow, beautifully designed, and the photographs are captivating. Every mom-to-be and new mom should have this and start keeping track of their health and their family. Each section covers an introduction on what you should keep in mind. It gives you the opportunity to write in your own notes. Some sections covered in the record book are Family Health History, Pregnancy & Prenatal Health, the Newborn, Developmental Milestones, Routine Check-Ups, Immunization, Dental and Vision Health, Medical Specialists, Illnesses and Conditions, Diagnostic Tests, and Medication etc. It also gives you a section where you can write in your contact list as well as your insurance information (a great idea).

The document organizer is a compliment to the record book. Here you can keep track and organize any information that was given to you or that you have researched, such as Medical Specialists, Clinics & Facilities, Education, Receipts and Resources etc. There are also blank dividers and labels so that you can adjust accordlingly to your needs. This organizer will help you keep track of everything and have it all in one place. No more boxes full of papers!

For every parent that wants to keep track of their child's health and be better prepared when seeing a medical doctor/specialist, have the health & wellness record book at hand. Write in your notes, questions and bring it with you at your next visit. It's a tool that every household should have.
