A Mom's Story

Mother’s Day is a Very Special Day to Me

Sunday May 11th, 2008 is the 4th Mother’s Day that I will be celebrating as a ‘mom’ and I love it! Despite all those sleepless nights and time off work to go to appointments, etc. being a mom to my son and daughter is the most incredible, enjoyable and blessed feeling I am so honoured to have and experience each and every day.

I have much appreciation for all the wonderful moms out there, especially my mom. She’s a great woman who not only nurtured me in her womb for nine months but throughout my childhood took care of me and gave me that warm human love. She has always been like a guardian angel protecting me and supporting all the decisions in my life. She’s always been proud of all my accomplishments. Now even as an adult, I feel that my mom still worries about me, always asking me how I’m doing, etc. And of course she’s always concerned about my children too. She loves her grandchildren so much and does whatever she can to help me out. My three year old son and 20 month old daughter love spending time with both my mother and father and I cherish those times I see them laughing and playing together.

Through the good times and the hard times (when my other son passed away unexpectedly a few years ago) my mom has always been there for me. Although she also mourned and her heart ached in the passing of her grandson, her love and good advice kept me strong and helped me manage my grief. The more tears I shed, the more she embraced me, comfort me and understood me, especially at times when no one else seemed like they could. I am very grateful to have had her there when I needed her most in my life.

It’s a true blessing to have the kind of woman my mother is. She has many great qualities as she is kind, good hearted, sensitive, well spoken and courteous. She always has her heart in the right place with the best intentions in the world. I look up to her and I’m very proud of call her my ‘Mami’.

Wishing all the special moms out there a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Sincerely,
Mommy Claudia
